Task Tracker runs in the background on your computer and helps you see how you spent your time. It notices which window or app is active, and whether you were actively using the computer or away from the keyboard. It does not record what you type — only things like app names, window titles, and general active vs idle time.
When you open the app, you get a simple timesheet for any date range you choose. You can see stretches of time by app or website, roll time up by project, and add projects using keywords (for example product numbers or a client name in a window title). You can export to a PDF for reports or a spreadsheet-friendly CSV if you need to share or invoice, as well as to a web app for remote viewing.
The app can be heavily configured, with various themes which you can customise and create yourself, different activity thresholds, and the ability to pause activity for breaks.
